African Conservation Experience

African Conservation Experience arrange for enthusiastic people to carry out conservation work on Game and Nature Reserves in Southern Africa. Our volunteers work in close association with Conservationists, Wildlife Vets and Reserve Managers on a variety of projects including; Game Capture for tagging and relocation, Behavioural studies on Lions and Hyenas, Game Counts and Monitoring, Veterinary work, Rehabilitation and Whale and Dolphin Research. You will also have the opportunity to experience the thrill of Sleep-Outs in the African bush, to learn a wealth of information about African ecology and to gain first hand knowledge of how Game and Nature Reserves are run and maintained.

PoD provides the opportunity for people to volunteer and make a difference in parts of the world that are rich in culture, variety and natural beauty but where there is poverty or disadvantage. We also arrange placements and courses for people to develop their skills in amazing parts of the world. You may be on your gap year, taking a career break or wanting to volunteer as part of a working holiday abroad. We currently offer teaching, orphanage, animal rescue, and conservation projects in Nepal, Peru, Tanzania and Thailand. Projects last from 1 week up to 6 months.

Daktari is a South African NPO near the Kruger Park. It is a Bush School where the objective is to inspire and educate local underprivileged children to care for their environment through the medium of a wildlife orphanage. Every Monday we welcome a group of 8 local children for a week. As a volunteer you will give them the opportunity to discover, learn and become passionate about wildlife and conservation, their heritage. You will also supplement their school curriculum in basic lessons of English, maths, life skills, social issues etc. Our goal is to enable today’s local children to be able to secure good employment in nature reserves, thereby improving their future quality of life
